The boy has been 'sticky' to us, which made us hardly able to be out of sight from him.
Separation anxiety.... another feared stage of a baby. Face the screams and wails of the baby if you are too far away!
Perhaps it is more for Luc cos he come close to many people daily.
Not easy for me this season! I could hardly do anything like usual when I am with him, worse when the older one is around.
Well, the consolation is- I would have him doing it next time even if I want him to!
Treasure every stage of his development!
Getting to this day with our two little darlings has not been easy. In fact, it has been the toughest time of my life thus far.
Thank God for many supportive loved ones who have been surounding us with practical help, prayers and advice;
- Mom
- Auntie Amy
- Lindee and Johnson
- Ben and Glen
- and many many more
We would never have done so well without all of you!
Today marked the new beginning of a new joy with Lucas in the family.
We are so happy that many of our relatives and closed ones can share this beautiful moment. Check out the pics taken!
...And the other two sitting right beside them!
He woke up with a fever on Sunday.
Eating was even more fussy than usual...
Not mentioning about the routine- SUPER OFF!
Did he catch a cold (due to his newly shaved hair)? Or he caught LA's cold virus (she woke up with runny nose and cough that morning as well).
We realised his fever was pretty random; as high as 39 plus to almost normal around 37.
Nevertheless, his appetite grew worse by the week; barely eating and drinking his milk! But doubled his water intake- surprisingly!
Then, he even fussed being put down for naps... and cranky even at play.
Just when I almost have had enough, thank God for my dear observant hub, who saw the more than usual drooling and rejecting the milk bottle, on top of all those unusual symptoms, and we concluded that our dear boy could be teething.
The most feared hurdle for parents with boys I have heard so far... wake up screaming in the middle of the night, knowing totally how many teeth the child has had (without counting the teeth but the number of increased fussiness periods) etc.
Looks like the boy's third and fourth teeth on the upper jaw are breaking forth!
Gear up Daddy and Mummy!
But thank God that through it all, he still slept pretty well through the night- God's grace and mercy for us!
吃不下!
Literally!
It has been two months since Lucas started his porridge diet. But he is STILL FUSSING- every meal!
We have tried everything we heard what works for friends; ikan bilis, anchovies, scallops, mee sua, cabbage, sweet corn, celery, onions... This is far more favourful than LA's short porridge regime!
I realised, it is not just the flavour. The texture is essential too!
Today's lunch, he rejected his 'what-seem-to-be-working-ikan-bilis' porridge. It was cooked slightly shorter than usual, so it is a bit runny like Teochew porridge.
After two mouthfuls, he did his usual swift turn to the side- his outrightly 'no-give-face' rejection.
Ten minutes was my last straw.
Before I dump the whole bowl of porridge, I decided to try removing the excess fluid in a heated pot over the stove and added a spoonful of his soy veg cereal to thicken it up.
Presented in a different bowl and stirring to get rid of the heat in front of him, this little boy leaned forward from his chair to peer into what I thought could be something 'smelling yummy' to him. And he licked his lips almost imeddiately and jumped in his seat impatiently to want to taste it.
For the rarest times, he cried not out of protest to stop eating, but wanting to another mouth of the 'yummy porridge'.! Needless to say, he finished to the last two spoonfuls within ten minutes.
He's a Gourmet! Just like his Daddy! :)
I was so so soooooo ANGRY with them yesterday!
Guess it was a build up of lack of quality sleep, solitary breaks (and my shopping sprees!!!!), and frustration over ah boy's transition from cereal to porridge.
Well, I needa accept that my expectations are probably too high, and setbacks and trials are part of the bundle of joy package.
Thank God for my dar dar hub who came back earlier to rescue me for a mini relaxing therapy.
So here I am, partially re-charged for the last day of the week!!!
Daddy's taking over for the weekends!
HU-RRAY FOR DADDY!!!!
Anyway, look at these two darlings... who can ever be angry with them for that long!
Thank you baby,
For being a wonderful daddy to the babies.
For being around most of the time.
For doing all the chores revolving the kids so fine.
For helping with all the chores in the house.
For being a pillar of strength all this while.
You have made the meaning of father NEW.
For all the thing you have done, more than those listed above, just to name a few.
MY DADDY ROCKS!
Cos he changes our poo.
And he brings us to the zoo.
Cos he brings us to shopping!
And he feeds us tho we were fussing.
I know we can do all things,
Cos you make them happen to our likings.
We love you Daddy!
Lucas displayed ALL the list of high chair problems in the book; crying, banging the table, distracted, arching back...
And...
He woke up at 12am last nite!!!!
Likely cos he did not eat much the entire day... fussed at all the meal times... I was still heaving relief when things started looking better earlier this week when the feeding took about 30mins each time. Well, I guess the season is here again- this time, suspected due to teething with the slight fever.
Thank God I was still awake cos of the late night Vivo experience!
Not very nice, cos today was a busy day with the wedding ceremonies, lunch and dinner.
So, the subject of employing a maid came all over again. Not to mention we paid a $200 deposit to reserve that particular maid under duress! Long story there...
Anyway, this boy is giving me all the heartaches! Talk about all the godliness I remind myself to keep in front of my babies- who else is in the best position to teach them who God is like at this age? Though I must admit I am far from being that!
Well, thinking back, we might have waited longer for our second one if LA were to be like that! She has been the easiest baby at home as far as I know!
All these three months of struggling, I was wondering (or worrying) if Luc is a special kid; being difficult to take care of. But I reckon now that he is as normal as other kids! LA is the special one!
